Ilayathalapathy Vijay Meets Ailing Fan Archana

Vijay, who is currently busy shooting for Tamil fantasy drama “Puli”, surprised an ailing ardent fan Archana by visiting her residence last week.

Archana suffers from speech impediment and has been restricted to a chair for the last five years due to a rare disease.

“When Vijay sir came to know about Archana and her wish to meet him, he immediately made arrangements to meet her. It was on Archana’s birthday last Thursday (Jan 1) that he paid her a surprise visit. She was extremely happy to meet him,” a source close to Vijay told.

Vijay spent a few hours with Archana, and even clicked photographs with her and her family.

Sridevi in awe of her Vijay 58 team

sreedevi-with-vijayVijay’s 58th film has hit the floors during the last week. The untitled movie being directed by Chimbudevan has kick-started with a grand song shoot at ECR, Chennai.

Sridevi and Hansika who play Mother and daughter in the movie, respectively are also part of the initial schedule of Vijay 58.

“Working with today’s generation of actors & technicians who r totally professional & focused is inspiration 4 me. So much to learn from them”, posted Sridevi in her official Twitter page.

Sridevi also recollected her past memories and said, “In Chennai shooting for a new Tamil film. Brings back so many memories of first day of shoot as a child actor.”

Further she added, “Thank you Chennai for all the love n warmth you have always given me. It feels great to be back.”

Shruthi Haasan is expected to join Vijay 58 unit from today. Sudeep, Prabhu are also part of Vijay 58 cast. Devi Sri Prasad will render the music scores.

Vijay’s new film goes on floors

Actor Vijay’s next yet-untitled Tamil fantasy drama, which features Bollywood actress Sridevi, went on floors here Monday. The makers are likely to shoot a song featuring over 100 dancers on the first day.

“The film went on floors on a grand set erected near ECR beach near Pannaiyur this morning. The team plans to shoot a song featuring over 100 dancers. They might also shoot an action sequence if time permits,” a source from the film’s unit told.

The first schedule at Pannaiyur will go on for 45 days. The crew will then head to a different location.

Also starring Shruti Haasan, Hansika Motwani and Kiccha Sudeep, the film is being directed by Chimbu Devan.

Vijay Kaththi will not be remade in Telugu

Vijay-starrer Tamil actioner “Kaththi”, which has turned out to be a blockbuster, won’t have a Telugu remake as the makers have decided to have a dubbed release instead.

The dubbed version is slated for a Nov 21 release.

“There were plans to remake the film, but these have been scrapped now. The Telugu producer has decided to go ahead and release the dubbed version,” a source from the production team told.

Actor Pawan Kalyan was to star in the film’s Telugu remake. A special screening of the film was organised for him recently.

“He saw the film and liked it. But he didn’t express keen interest to work in it,” he said.

Directed by A.R. Murugadoss, “Kaththi” features Vijay, Samantha Ruth Prabhu and Neil Nitin Mukesh in the lead roles.

The film, which released Oct 22, has turned out to be a blockbuster.
