Ilayathalapathy Vijay’s multi-starrer ‘Nanban’ that released as a Pongal treat was showcased for Salem Central Jail prisoners on Sunday (March 25). This was organized by the Tamil Nadu state government to provide healthy entertainment by featuring a quality film for the prisoners.

It is also said that the TN government has plans of screening such quality entertainers in jails in the pipeline. It is said that prisoners thoroughly enjoyed the film as it’s a Vijay starrer and a latest release that’s still running in multiplexes and rural areas.

‘Nanban’ starring Vijay, Ileana, Jiiva and Srikanth is helmed by Shankar and is a faithful remake of Bollywood blockbuster ’3 Idiots’. The film was acclaimed for retaining the essence from the original.

The entertainment tax was waived off for this film that’s a wholesome family entertainer.

Director Vijay is always keen on teaming up with Ilayathalapathy Vijay in near future. Actor Vijay is currently awaiting the release of Thuppakki, directed by A.R. Murugadoss. Post which he will start working on Yohan: Adhyayam Ondru with Gautham Vasudev Menon. G.V. Prakash is the music director while the female lead is yet to be finalized.

On the other hand Director Vijay is currently busy Thaandavam with Vikram, which is almost complete. Sources say that after the completion of all these projects the duo may team up for an action entertainer. However it is still unclear whether Vijay will do this project before or after Yohan.

A.R. Murugadoss’ next film Thuppakki with Vijay and Kajal Aggarwal is progressing briskly.. It is heard that Ilayathalapathy Vijay will play the role of a cop. Vijay has earlier played the role of an undercover cop in Pokkiri, which went on to become one of the most successful films in his career. Cinematographer Santosh Sivan has now revealed that most of the shots in Thuppakki are canned with hidden cameras in real locations. So now it looks like the film will be a real treat for Kollywood fans.

The technical team comprises of Kalaipuli S. Thanu (producer), Santosh Sivan (camera), Harris Jayaraj (music), Jayamohan (dialogues) and Anthony (editing).

Ilayadalapathi Vijay is reported to have signed ace director A.L.Vijay, who has finished an action entertainer script that will hit the floors from June.

“Director Vijay has finished his script for Actor Vijay, which is an action entertainer, shooting will start in June 2012,” says an insider. He further added, “Gautham Menon’s Yohan: Adhyayam Ondru shooting will also start in June and Ilayathalapathy will simultaneously act in both the projects.” However Vijay is busy with AR Murugadoss directing Thuppakki shooting, shaking kegs with gorgeous Kajal Agarwal in Bangkok.

“It is going to be action unlimited, as both are action entertainers with top notch directors,” concluded source. G.V.Prakash will be scoring the music for this untitled A.L.Vijay’s directorial. Meanwhile Madrasapattinam director is busy with Vikram and Anushka starrer Thaandavam.
